Kenedi Anderson was a big name on the most recent season of American Idol. The judges were so impressed by her initial audition that they awarded her the platinum ticket to Hollywood, an honor given to one contestant in each audition city. Judge and country singer Luke Bryan declared that she “might be the biggest star we’ve ever seen.” Anderson’s audition performance now has over six million views on YouTube. She continued with the show for three more episodes, but then American Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced she was leaving the show for “personal reasons.” Anderson didn’t elaborate on her reasons for leaving, simply posting on Instagram, “This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but I know it’s necessary,” and expressing her gratitude for the experience.
But while Anderson may have left the show, she hasn’t stopped singing. The Church’s “Strive to Be” YouTube account for youth recently shared a video of Anderson singing “Serve the Lord,” a song from the 2022 youth music album.
