Day 40 | Faith in Action

Scripture: Matthew 25:40

Devotion

When we see the suffering and brokenness in the world, it should stir something deep within us—a desire to respond and make a difference. Whether it’s children without stable homes, families facing overwhelming challenges, or individuals feeling isolated, these needs should move us to act. But serving isn’t just something we do, it’s a reflection of who we are, shaped by the example of Jesus.

We serve because of Jesus and the way He lived—caring for the outcast, healing the broken, and showing love to the least of these. His life teaches us that service is not about recognition or obligation but is a response to His call to love others as He has loved us. When we step in to advocate for justice, provide support, or are simply present in someone’s time of need, we’re serving God through our service. Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that others will know that we are His by how we love- how you love those around you is a direct response to how you have been loved by Christ.

As we embrace this calling, we create ripples of change that can extend to a true and lasting hope in Christ. Let’s be encouraged to keep serving, knowing that in every act of compassion, we reflect the heart of Christ and share His light with a world in need.

A Personal Prayer

  • Pray for wisdom to make sound decisions and discern God’s will in your life, along with the ability to see beyond the surface of situations. Ask for peace that surpasses understanding during challenges, strength to persevere, and a heart of gratitude for His blessings. Finally, intercede for the needs of your loved ones and community, lifting up those who are suffering or in need of guidance.

Pray for Our Community: Siloam Health

  • Siloam Health is dedicated to empowering neighbors from all nations to lead physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy lives, creating a welcoming community for those in need. • Ask God to bring healing and hope to each client seeking care, meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Pray that Siloam Health’s mission would thrive, with expanded resources and programs to reach even more people in the community.

With over 180 people groups and a challenging landscape shaped by historical and political factors, there is a significant need for the gospel and for spiritual awakening in this region.
  • Prayer Requests
    • Pray for an end to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, that the ongoing war will cease, and peace will be restored.
    • Lift up the School Without Walls students and leaders as they share the gospel despite persecution, asking that they effectively reach Russian people in areas that are difficult for Westerners to access.
